I design everything from e-commerce websites to social media banners and direct mail to newspaper ads. You can even throw in drawing an occasional storyboard for good measure. You name it in digital design, I’m your girl!
Working from home, sometimes in your pajamas, completely controlling your own schedule and not having to answer to anyone is as nice as you probably imagine it is. It can also be very lonely, and you have to be incredibly self-motivated and focused to make it work. But like EVERY job, it has it’s really good days and it’s really bad days.
Today is A REALLY GOOD DAY. I had a full page ad published in the NYTimes (pg A13) that I designed for a firm working with the ACLU. It was for the Edie Windsor case in Supreme Court, knocking DOMA. Not only did I get to hit a little milestone in my solo career, but it was for a cause I really care about! WIN and WIN!
(if only all days could be this good!)
