These Beautiful Gold and Rhinestone Christmas Star Ornaments are the “theme” to my holiday season this year.
Not only are these ornaments on our tree, but we are also giving them as gifts, and they made a beautiful background to our Christmas cards this year. These were very simple to make, but you need to have a little patience and a love for intricate patterns.
First, I sprayed the gold paper star ornaments with a bright gold Rust-oleum spray paint. It has a gorgeous bright shine.
Then I added sticky rhinestones in an intricate pattern on one side of the ornament. I used a couple different colors on each of the stars, and I also tried not to repeat a pattern. This was so much fun for me. I could sit and make rhinestone patterns for hours.
Once the stars were all rhinestoned up, I added a really thick coat of Mod Podge (gloss) and let them dry overnight.
I absolutely adore how these came out as well as how they photographed for our Christmas card. Here’s the cutter file I made for this project, and another.
