Tangerine Sorbet

Tangerine Sorbet recipe and tutorial. Delicious winter fruit. #recipe #tangerine #sorbetNo matter the weather, I’m always in the mood for a frozen sweet treat.

It’s even better when 1/3 of the ingredients grow in your own backyard. well, there are only 3 ingredients, but still…

tangerines

It’s also super easy with an ice cream maker.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups tangerine juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup honey

Juice your tangerines (if necessary). it took me about 12-4 tangerines. The best way to juice them is to peel them then pulse them in a food processor. Pour through a fine mesh strainer to remove the pulp and seeds.

Pour the juice back into the food processor, add the sugar and honey and blend for a while until it is all fully integrated.

Chill the mixture and pour into ice cream machine. Let machine run for about 20-30 minutes until it’s a good consistency.

Transfer tangerine sorbet to a plastic container and cover with plastic wrap. The plastic wrap helps prevent freezer burn. Freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.  You can eat it right away, but it will be a little slushy..

When I serve this, I serve it with Cool Whip. The combination of tangerine sorbet and Cool Whip tastes just like a creamsicle! Yum!

What’s your favorite homegrown frozen dessert?

Fresh Tangerine Sorbet, such a beautiful color #tangerine #sorbet #homegrown
